We were so happy to welcome our students back to school today.

This Saturday, January 31st, from 9:00–2:00, we are hosting a fun-filled ROAR Day! Bus transportation will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Your child brought home an orange note. All Roar students are welcome to attend even if you did not sign up.

We have a fantastic day planned with crafts, cooking, and lots of hands-on fun!

Our 5th graders turned the cold weather into a cool science moment by creating frozen bubbles! ❄️🫧 Huge thanks to Mrs. Nichols for sparking this idea and to our 5th grade team for leading the way and gathering supplies to make this hands-on learning possible. #SpringdaleFamily

💧✨ What a splash-tastic day! Our 5th graders went on an adventure following the journey of a water droplet with Beaver Water District! From source to tap, students learned how our community works together to keep water clean, safe, and flowing. Big thanks to Ms. Meghan Post for making learning come alive today! 💙🌎 #SpringdaleFamily

Thank you so much to Mr. Peek for coming to Walker today! 🌪️⛈️ Our kindergarteners loved learning from him as he shared all about severe weather. The students were engaged, curious, and excited throughout the presentation. We are so grateful for the time and energy he pours into educating our young learners! 💜 #SpringdaleFamily

📚 Walker was thrilled to welcome author Tamara Hart Heiner to our school today!
Mrs. Heiner is the author of many children’s and young adult novels and a proud former Walker Wildcat. She especially enjoyed reconnecting with Mrs. Paxson, who was also a teacher at Walker when Tamara was a student. What a special full-circle moment for our school community! 🐾 #SpringdaleFamily

2nd grade had an exciting afternoon of hands-on learning! Suzanne Murphy from the Illinois River Watershed Partnership visited to teach students about weathering and erosion. After the presentation, students rotated through engaging labs to explore these concepts further. They also made important connections between weathering, erosion, and fish habitats, by learning how healthy watersheds help protect fish populations and our local ecosystems. #SpringdaleFamily #IRWP #AGFC

🍧🍫 Food Day Tomorrow at Walker! 🍫🍧
Tomorrow is a food day at Walker! Kona Ice for $4–$7 and World’s Finest Chocolate bars will be available for $1 each. Thank you for your support!

Our Wildcats are excited to begin their Arkansas Game & Fish fishing unit! Fourth graders kicked things off with hands-on fish handling, using the green screen background to model correct and incorrect ways to hold different species. Thank you, AGFC, for supporting outdoor education and student learning. 🎣🐟

We would like to extend our deepest and most sincere gratitude to the Schiemiding Foundation, Inc. of Northwest Arkansas for their incredibly generous $1,000 donation to Walker’s STEM Sustainability Fund. This meaningful gift will have a lasting impact on our students by allowing us to purchase essential supplies that enrich learning experiences and strengthen the integration of hands-on STEM and sustainability concepts.
