🎉 Our 1st graders took their curiosity outdoors this week during a visit to Apple Seeds in Fayetteville, AR. They became young scientists—using magnifying glasses to examine plant characteristics up close and flashlights to test whether leaves were translucent, transparent, or opaque. 🔍💡 Hands-on exploration like this helps our Wildcats see the world through a STEM lens — discovering that innovation starts with curiosity! 🌱✨

We’re thrilled to launch our school-wide composting initiative — starting at mealtime! 🥕🍎🍞
All students will help reduce food waste and support our school garden by turning their leftovers into fresh, nutrient-rich soil each day. 🌻
Our Wildcats identified this need and took action to make a difference! As part of our Changemaker Initiative, classes are engaging in a Composting Challenge — and the winning class will take home the coveted Golden Worm Award! 🪱🏆 #SpringdaleFamily

Mrs. Maize’s class had an exciting adventure exploring shapes all around our school! Students searched for circles, squares, triangles, and more — discovering that shapes are everywhere in our world. This hands-on activity helps build early geometry and observation skills through play and exploration. #SpringdaleFamily
☀️ Our 5th graders have been busy exploring the power of the Sun! Students designed and tested their own sundials to observe how shadows change throughout the day — a hands-on way to connect Earth’s rotation and the passage of time. #SpringdaleFamily
Our 1st graders have been exploring how light and sound waves help us understand the world around us! 🌟 Last week they learned that X-rays are powerful light waves doctors use to see inside our bodies. Exciting news! Our Wildcats got a special visit from the Springdale Fire Department today. Students have been asked to create their own home fire escape plans with their families. One student who submits a plan by November 10 will get to ride to school in a fire truck! Check the newsletter for all the details!

There will be no Cross Country this week. We will not be having practice on Tuesday or the race on Wednesday due to rain. The final Mini Wild Dog Race will be postponed, and we’ll share the new date as soon as it’s scheduled.
