Springdale Public Schools has named Aaron Tinnin as the new assistant principal for Sonora Middle School.
Tinnin said he feels excited and honored for the opportunity.
"I want to thank Principal Jennings, Dr. Cleveland and the Springdale Public School Board for this opportunity to serve the students and staff at Sonora Middle School," he said,
Tinnin has served as an educator for a decade, all of which has been with Springdale Schools. He previously taught 11th-grade English at Archer Learning Center and sixth-grade English language arts at Don Tyson School of Innovation. Tinnin transitioned to Sonora Middle School after serving for three years as an instructional specialist at Perry Professional Development Center.
"Mr. Tinnin is a gifted educator who looks to enrich every student experience for every child and will share that gift with his new school," said Dr. Jared Cleveland, Springdale Public Schools superintendent. "He is ready to begin his new adventure serving Sonora students."
Tinnin holds a Bachelor of Arts in English literature with a minor in studio art from Hendrix College, a Master of Arts in teaching secondary English from the University of Arkansas and a specialist’s degree in educational leadership from Arkansas State University.
Tinnin is replacing Brett Unger, who transitioned to serve as an assistant principal at Har-Ber High School.
